Daily Dose of Jesus

Good morning, beautiful friends; welcome to your daily dose of Jesus! Another week is flying by and I know you're busy! I know it's summer break and them kids are running wild, but just take a deep breath and hang with me for a few minutes! Take a quick break for yourself, sis, I promise whatever it is you're doing can wait.

You know Jesus never asked you to stay busy, right?? It's not his will for us to run around like chickens with our heads cut off. His will is for us is to pursue Him, to sit at His feet and not let our plans distract us from His purpose.

Luke 10:41-42 "Martha, Martha, 'the Lord answered,' you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed-or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

I love that passage. Mary and Martha are rushing around to get things in order for Jesus' arrival and once he gets there, Mary takes a seat at His feet, meanwhile, Martha is running about like a mad-woman. She is bringing in food, non-stop cleaing and stressing over all the things. Remind you of anyone?

Some may see this passage of Luke 10:41-42 as a rebuke, but I see it as an invitation for Martha to sit and rest at Jesus' feet, too and just simply bask in his presence. Mary was taking it all in-just soaking it all up like a sponge. Martha is so distracted by all of her tasks, she is missing the real blessing. Jesus tells her only one thing is needed: for Martha to receive Jesus' presence, take in His word, and know that she is a valued child of God. How often do you get so caught up in your daily tasks that you forget to stop and take in the beauty of the day that God has blessed you with? How often do you hit the floor running, forgetting to pray and thank Jesus for waking you up? I'm guilty..

Are you Mary or Martha? I'm not judging either woman because even though I'm probably Martha in this situation, my heart wants to be Mary. Let's try to slow down and take in our daily dose of Jesus! Cause, y'all, we need Him every day, all day long!!

Girl, Go Get Your Bible

People often say: Motherhood doesn't come with directions or life didn't come with an instruction manual, but y'all, it does. The Bible! There ain't one thing you're going through that isn't addressed in the good book. Go get your bible, turn to the very back to the Concordance, look up whatever it is you're feeling, and go study it. Feeling Anxious? It's in there. Feeling despair? It's in there. Your soul troubled? It's in there. Too busy? It's in there. I know it's hard to find time, but God makes is so simple, so make time. Find you a bible verse that pertains to your situation-learn it, live it, breath it and recite it every time your situation starts to bring you down.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All scripture is God-breathed and it profitable for instruction, for conviction, for correction, for training in righteousness, so that the name of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work."

We were made for more than just surviving in a crazy, busy world. We were made to worship Jesus and praise Him through all the craziness we go through on a day-to-day basis. Listen, we gotta praise Him when we feel like it and praise Him even harder when we don't because even though we may be blinded by the chaos, He's preparing us and bringing us through it!

Ephesians 1:18-19 "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people and His incomparably great power for us who believe."

My sweet friend sent me a song the other day called Made For More by Josh Baldwin. I was hooked from the very first line that says: I know who I am because I know who you are. I thought, "Wow, what a powerful and wonderful God I serve!" Think about that... Every single person can know who they are by simply knowing who He is. It sure takes the guesswork and confusion out who HE made us to be, I'll tell ya that.

That's the good stuff, y'all!! We were made for more!!

Such A Time as This

Esther 4:14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you come to your royal postiion for such a time as this?

Did you ever think that we are where we are in life because God has equipped us to be here and that He has reason for this season?? God brought you to where you are because He knew that YOU, HIS CHILD, can handle it and I believe that with all that I am. It's gonna be tough, sis. It may knock you down, but get back up and fight again. You may be a little cinged from the flame, but you will not burn. You may come out exhausted and tired, but you're gonna come out. You're strong because your strength comes from the Almighty, Lord of Host.

I know you got sideblinded, I know you have no time, I know the world is crazy, I know, I know, I know... I also know, you can do this!! The Lord is your strong tower-keep the focus and stay the course!

This is where being too busy comes into play... We get so caught up in everything else that we lose sight of God's plan. The enemy uses distraction so he can sneak in and pounce on us when we least expect it. He makes his move when we're too busy looking in one of the other fifty directions we're trying to go, instead of focusing on the one straight and narrow path that God created for us.

SLOW DOWN and LOOK UP!

You were made for such a time as this!! Whatever your "this" is, you got "this".

The Tsunami

My dad told me something a while back that's stuck with me, and I'd love to share it with you. He said "Sin is a ripple, but God's grace is a tsunami." Y'all!! Read that again and read it with thanksgiving because it's by the grace of God that we are still here! It's by the tsunami of God's grace that we are forgiven. It's by His grace that we can stay focused and face our daily tasks without losing sight of Him. He so graciously gave us time; spend it wisely!

He created us for such a time as this! So, clear your schedule, get that breastplate on, pray like never before, and walk into battle like you know God is fighting with you because, guess what? He is!

Just wanted to give you a daily dose of Jesus to get ya through your day;

Slow down, fight when you have to and know that HE will always make a way.

Your saved by grace sis,

Michelle
