This I Know

Mother’s Day weekend came and went, and per usual, we were busier than ever.  My daughter had another out-of-state soccer game, and my son and his girlfriend had a prom.  Jon and I tag-teamed; he did soccer (all the way to Detroit and back), and I did the prom activities.   (Side note- I know it was Mother’s Day, but my husband is the most amazing man; he makes the flow of our household possible!) Thankfully, everyone made it to church on Sunday, which was the only present I needed.  But the running, oh the running.  We seem always to be running.  Michelle and I sat at her son's (my nephew’s) baseball game the other night, talking about how the month of May is so incredibly busy we didn’t know how we would do it all.  We have 3 birthdays, 1 8th grader graduating, 2 high school graduations, a graduation party, a baby shower, and a baby on the way.   And this is just in our immediate family.  How are we going to do this all?  As teachers, we used to call May --Mayvember because May is clearly as busy as November- December.  

 

Shout an Amen if you are with me.

 

It's overwhelming, right?  But thank God for this craziness!  I am so thankful for these blessings that I get to chase everywhere. 

 

These are my blessings that I have prayed for and over every day for as long as I can remember.  And the month of Mayvember is nothing but per joy.  Thank you, Jesus!

 

 

Jesus Loves You, This You Should Know Too

 

In this fast-paced world, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and lost. Yet, amid all the chaos, one constant source of love and comfort never fails—Jesus Christ. His love for us is boundless, unwavering, and truly transformational.

 

Sunday at church, surrounded by my family, my brother and sis, and their family, I was overcome with the thoughts of how much I love these people, and no matter how much I love them--- the love of our Father in Heaven is so much BIGGER, it is indescribable, a love that surpasses all human understanding.

 

Sometimes, I get in my own head. (I know my husband will be shocked when he reads this! LOL.) I overthink, let fear get the best of me, and then I overthink some more. I do this with a lot of things: my children, finances, decisions. I even let the thought of not being worthy enough for Jesus get to me. Guess who is putting these thoughts in my head? It certainly isn’t God; it’s his counterpart, Satan.  Thank goodness Jesus is on our side; He is praying for me; He is praying for you.

 

Jesus said, My prayer is not for them alone.  I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in Me that I am in You. May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that you have sent Me.  I have given them the glory that you gave Me, that they may be one as We are one.  I in them and You in Me—so that they may be brought to complete unity.  Then the world will know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me.  John 17: 20-23

 

 

The Bible Tells Me So

 

I used to pick up my Bible on Sunday and take it with me to church.  Occasionally, I would do a devotion.  I was just too busy. When I intentionally made it a daily practice to read the word of God every day, my life changed. I became discerned.  I became convicted.  I started understanding what Jesus wanted for me.


Ephesians 3:17-19 And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.


This passage is a prayer for understanding the vastness of Jesus’ love. It encourages us to root ourselves in this love, letting it fill every part of our lives. It’s a love so profound that it surpasses all understanding, yet it’s available to each of us.


It’s okay to be busy and have stress, but all that business and stress doesn’t really belong to us; it belongs to Him, so give it back to Him in prayer.


Isaiah 54:10 Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.


Even in the most tumultuous times, God’s love remains steadfast. This verse reassures me that no matter what happens, His love and peace are constants in our lives. It's a beautiful reminder that His compassion is ever-present, guiding us through every storm.

 

Yes, Jesus Loves Me

 

Now that the children’s song Jesus Loves Me is stuck in your head for the rest of the day (You’re welcome), be blessed. Sing it to your kiddos, your husband, your boss.  Everyone needs to know.
